Description

This is a Research Clinician position wit! h the Group Health Research Institute (GHRI). In collaboration with the Principal Investigator and research team, contributes specialized clinical knowledge to the design and execution of clinical research studies, mainly vaccine related. At the direction of the Principal Investigator, ensures that clinical trials are implemented and conducted in accordance with IRB approvals, FDA regulations and GCP/ICH guidance. Recruits, enrolls and conducts follow-up visits with study participants. Performs clinical evaluation/intervention/measurements requiring professional clinical knowledge/education/training. Uses clinical knowledge and skills to make decisions around patient safety and study participation issues. Evaluates responses of participants and makes independent judgments regarding the conduct of clinical interventions. Performs advanced medical record review as needed, and monitors quality of clinical measures across studies. Represents the research study team on behalf of! the Principal Investigator to external collaborators, study m! onitors, and GHC clinical sites. Must be an ARNP or PA.

Qualifications

Education
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelors Degree as determined by the needs of the research projects. This project requires WA state licensure as an ARNP or PA.

Preferred Education

Masters Degree in health-related field and active Washington State ARNP or PA license.

Knowledge/Skills
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Intermediate Knowledge of research data collection requirements and specialized clinical intervention/measurement/assessment skills as required by the projects. A thorough understanding of regulatory policies governing industry practices, HIPAA requirements for clinical research, and knowledgeable about patient safety and quality control requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, and to provide leadership i! n a team setting.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills
Advanced level knowledge as above.

Experience
Minimum Experience Requirements
5 years Experience with clinical activities required by the research projects. Two years of clinical trials research or clinical data collection experience. Experience with protocol development and clinical monitoring procedures required. Demonstrated experience in working through the development, implementation, and closeout phases of research projects.

Preferred Experience
5 years Experience with clinical activities required by the research projects. Two years of clinical trials research or clinical data collection experience. Experience with protocol development and clinical monitoring procedures required. Demonstrated experience in working through the development, implementation, and closeout phases of research projects, plus 7-10 years experience as research interventionist or intermediate- to high-level c! linical research professional. Prior supervisory, staff training, and l! eadership experience.

License/Certifications
Minimum License/Certifications Requirements
At time of hire one of the following: Washington State license as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
