Telecare's Clark County Evaluation and Treatment Center is a 12 ! bed inpatient, acute psychiatric unit. An interdisciplinary team provides progressive recovery based services to adults who have mental illness.

The Mental Health Specialist is the treatment team member who is responsible for providing care to meet the physical and psychological needs of clients through providing direct and indirect services, using Psychiatric Rehabilitation concepts and Recovery Philosophy.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Mental Health Specialist will:

• Establish and maintain and co-facilitate a therapeutic relationship with Clients and will act as a role model in maintaining a hopeful and positive attitude in problem solving and coping with individuals in the acute phase of mental illness
• Participate in the development and implementation of Client care plans
• Attend and participate in meetings and groups
• Facilitate rehabilitation therapy groups and activities
• Chart and observe Clients! behavior
• Document Clients activities of daily living! , response to interventions, and significant behavior changes
• Assist with outings and other events

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two years experience with psychiatric clients in an inpatient psychiatric setting is required
• Knowledge of basic psychiatric and nursing skills, including nursing interventions is essential
• Certification as a CNA or its equivalent is acceptable documentation of nursing skills knowledge
• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required
• Effective written and verbal communication skills regarding psychiatric behavior and treatment documentation
• Knowledge of emotional and social needs of mentally and emotionally disturbed individuals
• Ability to use problem-solving techniques and interview clients to determine client needs
• Must have a strong understanding of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Concepts and Recovery philosophy
• Applicant may be fingerprinted and must! receive clearance from the Washington State Patrol Identification and Criminal History Section
