Virginia Mason Medical Center has 19 Operating Rooms plus a Litho Unit. OR Nurses care for the surgical patient through the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods. The OR nurse performs a number of duties, including patient assessment, creating a sterile environment, monitoring patients' mental and physical status, coordination of care, and provision of resources.

The registered nurse provides high quality, skilled nursi! ng services to assist patients to achieve optimum health and f! unctional health status following an illness requiring hospitalization. Through collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals, the nurse prepares the patient and family for discharge to home or another setting for continued care.

A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License is required for this position. At least 3+ years recent operating room experience required. Prefer circulating and scrubbing experience. CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work. Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.
