Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Surgery Center

Description: Providence Health & Services is at present recruited Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Surgery Center right now, this position will be placed in Washington. Providence is calling a full time Registered Nurse working day shifts in the Operating Room to the new Providence Medical Park in Spokane Valley, WA.

This Registered Nurse of Perioperative Services assumes independent responsibility for the direct, primary care of patients through all stages of surgery, including but not limited to: presurgery, procedure and recovery. The RN provides patients with skilled observation and intervention to meet their needs. Performs a! ll duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects! the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.

Estimated start date: March 24, 2014.

In this position you will:
Organize and prioritize patient arrivals, expediting urgent/high priority patients to maximize effectiveness and productivity.

Complete pre-surgical/procedure assessment, pre-op screening of data and diagnostic testing, collecting subjective and objective data from patients, families and other sources to complete patient̢۪s history forms.

Take corrective action as necessary to adequately prepare patient for a scheduled surgery/procedure and to successfully complete pre-surgical/procedure preparation

Develop plan and outcome goals that are attainable in relation to resources available to the patient. Modify the plan according to patient responses to medication and treatment, ongoing evaluations and nursing plan of care.

Administer and document prescribed medications and IV solutions ! in a manner consistent with knowledge of purpose, side effects, contraindications and established guidelines

Assess, plan, observe and evaluate patients/family needs in pre-registration and throught the admission process and/or the recovery process.

Required

qualifications for this position include:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.

Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.

ACLS required for Phase I recovery.

Critical care or recovery room experience required.

Preferred

qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree

Recent RN experience working in the operating room.

Minimum of two years Medical/Surgical nursing experience and EKG rhythm identification preferred.

Work experience in a clinical setting preferred.
