More complete informations about this career opportunity please read the description below. UW Neighborhood Clinics has an outstanding opportunity for a Float/Triage Medical Assistant . This individual performs duties required to assist health care professionals in the examination and treatment of clinic patients, provides individual and group patient education, conducts basic laboratory and electrocardiogram tests, and performs a variety of clerical/administrative functions. Floats to different clinics to fill in for other MA staffs that are on leave. Will need to work with different clinical teams and support different providers based on each assignment.

The Medical Assistant (MA) knowledge base and clinical background is important for coordination as he/she will review the pools and identify patients who need medical services to improve the patientÂ's disease management and health outcomes. The medical assistant provides follow-up calls and sends letters, and performs a variety of clerical/administrative functions necessary to document and maintain continuity of care between clinic visits. Working as a triage medical assistant, he/she will assist the clinic registered nurses with the management of telephone encounters to expedite refills, referrals, requests for sooner appointments, letters, and care coordination for patients. By tracking and following labs, missed appointments, and hospitalizations, the triage MA will contact the patients to schedule the necessary follow-up care with the patientÂ's team members.

The ideal candidate will have High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of a one (1) academic year medical assistant program, or 900 clock hours of other applicable training. Minimum of one year medical assisting, adult medicine experience preferred. Experience using EpicCare EMR. Project coordination and chronic disease management.
