This job is responsible for providing nursing care and support to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse, with ! the exception of administering medication. An incumbent assumes responsibility for own actions within the scope of clinical experience/education preparation, while being an active student in an accredited nursing program.
Essential Duties:
Provides care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Performs procedures previously learned in formal education/experience as evidenced by skills checklist provided by an accredited School of Nursing.
Contributes to unit function.
Adheres to unit’s Safety and Risk Management standards.
Administration of medication will
NOT
be included.
Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education:
Current enrollment in the nursing education curriculum of an accredited Associate or Baccalaureate Degree program.
Experience:
Satisfactory completion of at least one academic term (quarte! r or semester) which includes a clinical component.
Licensure or Certification:
Must be registered by the State Department of Health (DOH) as a Nurse Technician.
Current BLS certification.
