The Challenge: An opportunity to work with an outstanding support team of nurses, psychologists, pharmacists and other health professionals providing long term care.! We are seeking a motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide OT services for a stable panel of disabled adults with interesting and complex special needs. About Rainier School: Rainier School is a habilitation center for individuals with intellectual disabilities located within the city limits of Buckley, Washington about a mile-and-a-half from downtown. The campus is situated in a peaceful country setting with a unique and prominent view of Mount Rainier.

Today, Rainier School's population is about 370 adults with a wide variety of abilities and needs. 24-hour residential care and specialized care or teaching is provided in the areas of work or vocational training, leisure activities, social relationships, and everyday life tasks. Programs and services are individualized and designed to enhance self-determination and maximize independence. Duties: Provide skilled Occupational Therapy services in a 1:1 or group setting to clients with complex diagnoses suc! h as intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, mu! ltiple trauma and mental health problems.The OTA2 assists the OTR with evaluations and treatment planning and provides treatment to clients with complex problems in the area of daily living, sensory motor, cognitive and social skills.

Treatment is provided to restore reinforce and enhance performance, facilitate learning of skills and functions essential to productivity, to diminish or correct pathology and to maintain abilities. The OTA2 also instructs and evaluates students and volunteers.
