RN - Electrophysiology (EP) Lab
Seattle, WA
Full-time; 40 hours/week
Schedule; 10 hour shifts. 7:00am/8:30am - 5:30pm/7:30pm. Must be flexible with start/end times.
Call required.

The hourly salary range for this position starts at $27.56/hour and increases with years of relevant work experience.

Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. The focus of the Electrophysiology Lab is the diagnosis and treatment of problems with the "electrical" system of the heart. Based on results from studies performed in the EP Lab, appropriate treatment options for various rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias) can be offered. These options may consist of, or be a combination of, medications, pacemaker/defibrillator implantations, electrical shock and application of heat (cautery) to the heart tissue.

Virginia Mason's electrophysiology program is the most active in the region, performing over 1,500 procedures annually. The EP team offers a multitude of testing and tre! atment capabilities, including: Radiofrequency catheter ablation Cardioversion Tilt-table test Pacemaker insertion Implantable cardiac defibrillator implantation (ICD) Atrial-ventricular node ablation Insertable loop recorder Non-invasive program stimulation Virginia Mason electrophysiologists are national leaders in ablation procedures for treatment of arrhythmias and in the use of cardiac resynchronization therapy to treat congestive heart failure.

As an EP Lab Registered Nurse you will be responsible for circulating as an RN in the EP Lab including patient preparation and recovery. You will demonstrate critical thinking skills and recognized nursing techniques in the planning and provision of quality patient care. You will also administer medications, monitor patient vital signs, and continue patient care and assessment during the patient's time in the EP lab. As an EP Lab nurse you will need to ensure accurate documentation and coordinate patient teaching and p! ost procedure assessment. You should also demonstrate excellent communi! cation, organizational and time management skills. RN will also srub for cardiac device surgeries (ICDs and Pacemakers).

Electrophysiology experience is preferred. Must have work experience to include caring for cardiac patients with heart disease, arrhythmias and those requiring pacemekers or ICDs, either in an ICU or Telemetry setting. Possess and demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge and aptitude of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, and arrhythmia interpretation, physiologic monitoring in the adult and geriatric populations. A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License is equired for this position. ACLS certification is required every two years or as specified by the work. Other certifications may be required for specialty areas. BSN is strongly preferred.
