Registered Nurse (RN) Part-time-Mohs Surgery

Location: Spokane Valley, Washington

Ambulatory Surgery Center -- Registered Nurse

Fast paced Ambulatory Surgery Center seeking a par t-time professional Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, friendly, and will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory surgical setting.

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Determines and accomplishes objectives which are in concert with facility objectives
  • Assisting Mohs surgeon with procedures (surgical and cosmetic)
  • Directs and assists as necessary
  • Assures that proper technique and practices are used according to accepted standards of practice
  • Ensures care of patient through proper identification, checking of chart, and reporting of changes in condition
  • Assures documentation of patient care to meet criteria dictated by legal practice, state health laws, AAAHC, and Medicare
  • Is comfortable with delegation and oversight to medical assistants, maintaining both direct and indirect supervision in their daily tasks â€" ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures, as needed
  • Determines needs for facilities, supplies and equipment. Recommends and substantiates requests for purchase; communicates needs appropriately to ASC Administrator
  • Utilizes a body of nursing knowledge and discriminative judgment while giving direct or indirect patient care
  • Reduces chances of nosocomial infection by directing attention to infection control and environmental safety practices; enforces infection control practices in daily practices and directs staff appropriately
  • Is thoroughly familiar with and comfortable in the role of patient advocate, as applied to ambulatory surgical nursing
  • Assumes the responsibility for assurance of patient safety during the state of enforced dependency created preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively
  • Has a tho rough working knowledge of aseptic technique and its application
  • Provides a channel of communication between events and team members in the procedure room and persons who may not be in the immediate area, but who are concerned with the patient’s operative status
  • Maintains appropriate and respectful channels of communication with all team members, staff and providers
  • Makes provisions for instruments, supplies, equipment, and pharmaceutical requirements of surgical procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the ASC Administrator
  • May be expected to lift 25 pounds without assistance. Is required to obtain assistance when moving patients as is necessary for safety of patient or self. May be required to push patients in wheelchairs.

Certification| Qualifications| Skills Required:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited educational institute
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurs e (RN) in the State of Washington
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association Certification
  • Experience with electronic health records
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills, organizational skills and time management skills

Qualifications| Skills Preferred:

2 years surgical experience

MOHS Dermatology nursing experience is a plus

NOTE: The position does require occasional travel between both our Spokane Valley & Coeur d' Alene, Idaho locations. Main location will be Spokane Valley
