The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) as de! fined in RCW 18.79.260(3)e. The individualized plan includes meeting patients’ routine care needs such as taking patient vital signs, and providing comfort measures such as the patients personal hygiene needs. The CNA communicates changes in patient care needs or concerns directly to the supervising licensed nurse. He/She must demonstrate compassion and concern in the care of others, be able to accept direction and work effectively on the care delivery team. The CNA must utilize good time management skills and infection control practices to facilitate efficient and safe patient care. By maintaining high standards of excellence, a qualified CNA will demonstrate the ability to support and further a patient-centered care culture demonstrating commitment to the WGH standards of behavior and the Patient’s First philosophy.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: H igh school diploma or Gene ral Education Diploma (GED), successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant progr! am, CNA certification in the state of Washington and current B! LS HCP verification.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE : Recent patient care experience in an acute care setting is required.
