HOURS PER PAY PERIOD: Variable
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting in tasks involving patient care and maintenance of the operating room. The primary focus is to help with set-up and efficient turnover of the operating rooms and caring for the instruments and equipment to be used during the surgical procedure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in pulling instruments and supplies for surgical procedures. Set up equipment for surgical procedure.
2. Order and restock inventory and supplies for d! epartment. Stock and put supplies away in individual operating! rooms.
3. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment. Assists with clean-up and room turnover.
4. Provide assistance with moving and lifting patients. Transport patients.
5. Transport specimens to appropriate area/unit.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant program required.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Previous experience with sterile/aseptic techniques preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the State of Washington is required.
OTHER SKILLS:
Well organized, detail oriented and s! elf motivated
Ability to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with others
Basic computer/keyboarding skills including MS Office applications
Understanding of operating room protocols
