Participates as a member of the health care team by providing assistance in direct patient care as directed ! by the RN and by providing general clerical support to the assigned department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent with up to 12 months business technology training after high school to include health-related courses
Intermediate to advanced medical terminology and computer applications
One year experience in a healthcare environment (or equivalent education and/or experience)
WA State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Functional Independence Measure (FIM) Certification required within six months of hire
Good oral and interpersonal communication skills
Strong medical terminology
Attention to detail
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and act quickly in an emergency situation
Ability to successfully practice in interdisciplinary teams and prioritize verbal instructions from multiple sources Knowledge of patient charting processes and of basic housek! eeping functions
Strong computer skills to include word processing at 45+ wpm and ability to navigate multiple software sites simultaneously
Ability to enter data quickly and accurately
Strong organization skills
Must be detail oriented with strong problem solving skills
Work requires ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs or less

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One year acute care CNA experience
Knowledge of HBOC or other hospital information management system
Medical transcription experience
Order entry experience
