These positions are located in the Department of Nursing, Coronary Care Stepdown, Ward 2 South at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (Tacoma), Washington. KEY REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES:
You will obtain patient records and prepare or file all necessary forms. You will obtain and record routine history on patients. You will perform patient check-in procedures to include taking temperatures, obtaining height and weight, and taking blood pressure readings. You will direct parents or guardian to proper office. You will assist receptionist with telephone calls as assigned. You will provide information on clinic policies and procedures. You will set up and adjust equipment and supplies for various examinations and procedures. You will obtain culture specimens and prepare lab slips in screening clinic as directed. You will perform general housekeeping duties. You will clean and prepare exam rooms after each exam for next patient. You will maintain and stock equipment and supplies as specified in offices and treatment rooms.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Requirments: GS-4 applicants must have six months of general work experience and six months of specialized experience directly related to this occupation. Please see "General Experience" and "Specialized Experience" sections directly below for more information.
General Experience: (1) Work that demonstrates the applicantÂ's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processed of the broad subject are of the occupation.
Specialized Experience: 6 months of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-03) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience which involves obtaining vital signs and measurements; utilizing a variety of treatment forms, lab request slips, and record keeping forms used in the clinic; answering administrative telephone inquiries and patient family reception and directing; maintaining supply and equipment stock levels; assisting physicians, physician assistants (PA's), nurses, NCOIC, and/or LPN's in obtaining specimens and performing a variety of treatment procedures. Education Substitution: If candidates do not meet the specialized experience requirement listed above, education can be used as a substitution; Successful completion of at least a two year degree in Nursing. Combination: I have some experience as described above, but less than one year of combined General and Specialized experience; and I have more than one year but less than two years of education as described above. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience, both General and Specialized, by 12, then multiply by 100. Then divide your semester hours of undergraduate education by 60, and multiply by 100. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Note: You MUST provide a copy of your transcripts)

Personnel security investigation required. A medical examination is required prior to employment. Hepatitis B immunization is required (direct patient contact). This position is covered by the Drug Abuse Testing Program. Applicant drug testing and random drug testing will be required. Mandatory seasonal influenza vaccinations required annually. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. Direct Deposit of pay is required. One year trial/probationary period may be required. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. If selected, official college or university transcripts must be submitted.
