This is a back office, part time position, 30 hours per week, Monday - Thursday. HCA-E required.
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision and direction of the health center manager, provides support to staff and clients by performing, with accuracy and timeliness, a variety of tasks in different areas of the health center, and incorporates those functions into the overall operations of the agency.
Health Center Responsibilities:
Trains, coaches, and motivates paid and volunteer staff.
Helps patients by responding to requests; obtaining needed services from appropriate personnel or departments.
Provides patients with accurate information by answering questions, demonstrating knowledge of birth control methods, providing Planned Parenthood CIICâs or brochures, and offering community resources for identified patient needs, and Planned Parenthood services.
Establishes and prepares documents for patient records and patient services; completes patient insurance information and enters visit data into computer.
Optimizes patientâs satisfaction, provider time, and exam room utilization by providing education.
Keeps appointments on schedule by reviewing service delivery compared to schedule and notifying health center team of service delays.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by adhering to and complying with infection and exposure control procedures; OSHA, WISHA, CLIA, PPFA, and PPGNW policies and procedures.
Maintains HIPAA compliance standards regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
Maintains health center operations by following policies and procedures; reports needed changes.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Records and collects patient payments; solicits donations; controls credit extended to patients; files, collects and expedites third-party claims.
Identifies and assists in resolution of health center flow issues.
Participates in agency research projects as needed.
Performs essential functions for the back office and Front Desk by the end of the first year (cross-trained as needed).
Back office Responsibilities :
Performs tasks at the Nurses Station including, but not limited to, preparing exam rooms, taking clients to exam rooms, assisting the clinician, performing lab tests, ordering and maintaining supplies, maintaining logs and manuals, and a variety of tasks which require demonstrating a knowledge of universal precautions, sterile technique and hazardous waste disposal. Ability to obtain a HCA license may be required.
Performs laboratory intake (height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis, hemoglobin, venipuncture, etc.)
Opens and closes lab/back office area.
Cleans and stocks lab and exam rooms.
Performs lab tests and lab specimens in compliance with lab and agency protocols and procedures.
Assists clinicians and doctors during surgical procedures.
Education :
High school diploma, or equivalent.
Experience:
One or two years experience in a medical setting.
Demonstrates proficiency in conducting patient care in an electronic medical records (EMR) environment.
Proficient computer skills and software skills;knowledge of Microsoft software and EMR.
Certifications:
Health Care Assistant certification (Category A or E) required.
