Job Summary: Responsible for teaching classes related to childbirth preparation and/or early parenting, as part of the Childbirth & Early Parenting Education program at EvergreenHealth and is familiar with the philosophy of care, mission statement, services, and resources

REQUIRED for the position: High school graduate or equivalent Lactation Education Certified (LEC) by Mother's Milk Matters or comparable organization; must be updated every five years Childbirth Education Instructors (not Parent-Baby Instructors) also require one of the following three certifications: Current ICEA Certified Childbirth Educator (ICCE) by the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) -OR- Current Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator by Lamaze International (formerly ASPO Certified Childbirth Educator (ACCE) by the American Society for Psychoprophylaxis in Obstetrics (ASPO)) -OR- Great Starts certificatio! n from Birth and Family Education/Parent Trust for Washington ! Children

5 years of experience teaching childbirth and early parenting education classes Ability to communicate clinical/educational knowledge to learners, including patients and other class registrants, student observers and/or assistants, nursing and medical staff, and families

Must have BLS Healthcare Provider certification by date of hire
