Nurse Practitioner

Federal Way

Full-time 40 hours a week

Competitive Salary + DOE

This position provides high quality primary care to promote the enhancement of health and prevention of illness. Candidates, after becoming a masters level ARNP, should have demonstrated experience working in an urgent care setting or in an Emergency Department. Candidate must have experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) and be comfortable with documenting the patient’s history and care rendered in the EMR during the course of the patient visit. Familiarity with Family Practice and provision of care for patients including children desired.

Job responsibilities to include:
Clinical Care:

  • Provide routine urgent care exams, as well as educates and counsels the patient
  • Collaborates closely with patients primary and specialty health providers
  • Ensures warm han! d offs and referrals of patients to primary care or specialty providers with appropriate documentation
  • Able to work independently within the scope of their education and licensure
  • Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solving skills and ability to make the appropriate decisions quickly
Program Development:
  • Participate in Urgent care program development
  • Assist with marketing the new urgent care facilities and services to the community
  • Leadership role in developing new work flows, development of urgent care team and employee and patient satisfaction
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participates in quality assurance activities
  • Use of VMPS tools to facilitate efficiencies in the work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Accountabilities will vary depending on specialty area.

Washington State Reg! istered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Lic! ense are required for this job. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers are required for this position, as well as prescriptive authority. Also required are: an advanced background in nursing; an understanding of anatomy, physiology, histology, and pharmacology; and strong interpersonal and counseling skills.

Certification by specialty area as well as work experience in specialty area may be required, depending on the position.
