Position Summary
PtCAs will function as an integral member of the patient care team and on patient care units will provide basic nursing care to hospitalized patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in addition to completing patient transfers. The PtCA helps to maintain a safe patient care unit and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients.

Minimum Requirements

Patient care experience (institutional) of one year or more strongly preferred.

Education/Licenses/Certifications
Successfully completed a Basic Life Support (BLS) course for the Healthcare provider and has a current card.
Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Washington is required. Current enrollment in an accredited RN program may replace the certification requirement. For students curren! tly enrolled in an accredited RN program, Registration as a Nu! rse’s Assistant is required.
Meets current State requirements to be certified as a Health Care Assistant, Category A (WAC 246-826-130).
