More complete informations about this position opportunity kindly see the descriptions. DESC is currently recruiting for 4 Mental Health Professionals (MHP) for Mobile Crisis Team (MCT). As members of a multi-disciplinary team, Mental Health Professionals are responsible for providing comprehensive psychosocial assessments; coordinating and problem solving with first responders and other referents; creating and developing detailed recovery oriented disposition plans; linking clients with appropriate community resources; facilitating crisis resolution in the least restrictive environment; and assisting with arranging transportation for clients to appropriate facilities as needed.
DESC's Crisis Solutions Center (CSC) provides rapid stabilization, treatment and referrals for individuals in mental health and/or chemical dependency crisis within King County. An innovative new approach in social work, the CSC aims to divert eligible individuals from hospitals and jails by providing a more appropriate therapeutic alternative. The CSC is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serving individuals who are in good behavioral contro! l, have not committed a violent crime and do not have a histor! y of violence, and are willing to cooperate with services of the program instead of going to jail or hospital. Three separate programs work in close collaboration.
The 13-member Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) was mobilized in 2011 and has been providing responses to calls from first responders throughout the County, referring individuals to appropriate community providers.
The 16-bed Crisis Diversion Facility (CDF) accepts individuals in acute behavioral crisis from the community, for up to 72 hours, and provides stabilization; evaluation and psychiatric services; mental health and chemical dependency assessments; and intensive case management.
Crisis Diversion Interim Services (CDIS) , with 23 beds, accepts individuals referred from the Crisis Diversion Facility who are homeless, or at risk for homelessness. Clients may stay for up to 14 days, and will be able to access psychiatric services; mental health and chemical dependency assessments; individual! and group counseling; and intensive case management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Meet minimum criteria as a Mental Health Professional as defined in RCW 71.05, WAC 388-865-0400 which typically requires Master's degree in a social work, psychology or other relevant behavioral science or Bachelor of Nursing degree with specialty in mental health.
Experience and skills in working with mentally ill individuals who are difficult to engage and may resist services.
Familiar with Recovery Principles, Crisis Intervention and Stabilization, Integrated Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders, Intensive Case Management, Illness Management, and relevant Evidenced based/Emerging best practices.
Knowledge of Harm Reduction strategies.
Strong working knowledge of DSM IV (and its successor).
Valid Washington state driver's license and insurable driving record.
Bilingual in Spanish/English, preferred.
