A wonderful opportunity is now available for a Nurse Practitioner of Palliative Care with management experience to work at a highly-respected medical center and develop th! e hospital’s palliative care program. The NP Manager of Palliative Care will have a chance to shape the future of this program and create a high-quality service line for the hospital.
The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner will report directly to the Chief Nurse Officer and work collaboratively with departments across the hospital to provide palliative care services to patients. The 200-bed hospital sees a busy patient census daily that ranges in acuity, so there is a definite need for this program and the services that it provides. This position will oversee approximately five staff nurses and nurse practitioners. As the program grows, more staff will be added to support the Palliative NP Manager.
In addition to developing the program and overseeing its day-to-day operations, the NP Manager of the Palliative Program will take part in community outreach and develop a dense network with other palliative care providers in the area. The hospital is part of ! a larger health system with another facility that has been run! ning a very successful palliative care program for over two years.
