Description: Maxim Nurse Staffing is in need of Histotechnologist right now, this occupation will be placed in Washington. Candidates would need to have a minimum of 2 years professional expe! rience.

Minimum Requirements for the positions:

• HT ASCP Certified
• Comfortable working with animals
• Ability to clear Nationwide Criminal History report

Responsibilities include:

• Performs specimen collection, accessioning, and logging routines
• May be responsible to make scheduled rounds within the facility t! o pick up surgical specimens.
• Checks each specimen fo! r criteria of acceptability, assuring proper patient identification, specimen integrity and appropriate paperwork.
• • Records the receipt of specimens and assigns identification number according to department and/or facility protocol

Qualifications include:

• Certification as a Histotechnologist, HTL (ASCP or equivalent) and/or per state requirements preferred.
• Completion of a CAHEA accredited histotechnology program; or Associate's Degree preferred.
• One year of experience in histopathology strongly preferred.
• Current physical exam per state or contract regulations.
• Current TB test or chest x-ray.
