Job Summary: Assumes 24-hour accountability and responsibility for area(s) assigned. Responsible for overall quality of service and for planning, developing, organizing, integrating, and directing programs, staff, and budget in support of the organizational goals and commitments. Essential Job Functions: 1. Facilitates patient care including organization and management within established policies, procedures, standards of care, budgetary parameters and strategic objectives. 2. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care. 3. Assesses and evaluates staffing patterns for proper utilization of personnel in relation to patient care required. 4. Develops and monitors annual capital and operations budgets. Coordinates development and implementation of appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances. 5. Develops and implements processes to manage human resource, materials, and finances within the established bu! dget. 6. Accountable for following the guidelines for attendan! ce, punctuality and overall dependability. Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned responsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals and values. Competencies: • Must utilize one or more Cerner applications to deliver and track patient care. • Demonstrated ability to communicate clinical/education knowledge to staff, patients, and families. • Able to demonstrate or acquire skills to complete nursing skills/competency assessment checklist. • Must have oral and written language skills, visual and aural skills in order to communicate and ensure and deliver safe patient care, and to provide a legal record of this care. • Accountability for professional nursing practice, commitment to patient care, and commitment to uphold Patient’s Rights, Federal, State of Washington Department of Health, and JC regula! tions and requirements. License, Certification, Education or Experience: REQUIRED for the position: • Degree in Nursing, either BSN or MSN • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire • 3 years of experience in a management or leadership role in an inpatient care setting • Knowledge of Federal, State, and JC regulations and requirements • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care • Demonstrated understanding of financial management and a commitment to the provision of cost-effective health care. DESIRED for the position: • Master’s degree, may be other than Nursing if has a BSN
