Description: Washington State University is in need of Library & Archives Paraprofessional 4 right now, this job will be placed in Washington. Manage the electronic reserve system for nursing courses, used by three regional campus libraries (Spokane, Vancouver, Tri-Cities), and one extended campu! s library (Yakima), and other units as required. The reserve collection accounts for about half of the library's circulation in Spokane. Position Details: Reserve Management (60%) Each semester, using the undergraduate and graduate schedules, use reserve system to set up nursing course and Clinical Skills Practice Lab reserves. Enter names of instructors, course name, locations.

Prepare Learning Management System (LMS) links for all courses using reserve materials. Send reserve information to faculty with instructions for incorporating into course information in the LMS. Collect readings information for each course. Identify materials needed to be placed on reserve.

Communicate with faculty to clarify any questions. Determine number of copies of books required and submit to acquisitions specialist to acquire. Suggest additional copies, new editions, or other material to Director and faculty. Review faculty syllabi and textbook order information; send facul! ty correct bibliographic information when needed.

In ! E-Reserve system, link to electronic resources, catalog records as applicable. Add notes to catalog records indicating current semester, faculty name, and course number(s) for books. Scan and upload appropriate items not available electronically. Provide scanning/digitization assistance to faculty, other staff as needed.

Review semester printouts of Title and Author lists of physical items on reserve; submit corrections to Director. Inform library faculty and staff at regional campuses when new texts need to be purchased. Communicate with library and program staff and faculty on those campuses to solve any problems. Enter copyright information as material is added to the course reserve system.

Obtain copyright permissions as needed. Communicate with faculty onsite and at regional campuses concerning Reserve material deadlines and methods of submission of material. Trouble-shoot Reserve and Learning Management System problems as needed; coordinate with LMS ! manager and WSU Libraries Systems staff on use of systems, suggesting improvements as needed. Position Details Continued: Circulation (30%) Staff Circulation desk two to four hours a day or as needed.

Provide general reference service as part of circulation duties. Explain and enforce library circulation procedures. Supervise student assistants in accomplishing circulation and other services. Assist to train new staff employees as needed.

Administrative (5%) Train regional campus staff in use of library software as needed. Make suggestions for improved workflow. Open and close library as needed. Other (5%) Complete additional duties/projects as assigned.

Minimum/Required Qualifications: High School graduation OR equivalent AND five (5) years' experience in the functional operations of a library including one (1) year beyond the entry level in an area of specialization. For supervisory positions, one (1) year of lead/supervisory experience; ! OR equivalent education/experience. Minimum/Required Qualifications con! tinued: Demonstrated experience using computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet or database software, and various library software programs. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Ability to work overtime to meet deadlines during peak workload situations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or higher degree. Experience with integrated library system, including reserve and circulation modules. Experience with reserve reading systems, especially electronic, and with library circulation procedures.
