Description: Axis Medical Staffing is hiring Risk Manager right now, this vacancy will be placed in Washington. As Risk Manager, you will be helping our patients, their families, and our employees by conducting comprehensive evaluations and investigations of complaints, claims and potentially compensable events. You wil! l also have the opportunity to utilize your analytical skills to perform risk assessments, conduct studies, collect and interpret data from a wide variety of internal and external sources, and make associated recommendations regarding operational efficiency and performance improvement.

Primary responsibilities include:
Establishing a proactive Risk Management Program, including Emergency Services, Urgent Care, Primary Care and Physician Practice sites.
Conducting audits and complex medical investigations involving physicians, staff and patients/guests in the Outpatient Services areas to promote quality of care and patient safety.
Providing education relative to Risk Management topics and concerns relative to Outpatient Services; quality variance reports; on-line reporting systems; risk and claims management.
Conducting complex risk analysis of various operational and care settings; Implementation of proactive risk management strategies in the! area of Outpatient Services.
Preparing medical chart revi! ew summaries.
Identifying and analyzing clinically relevant variances and trends in data.
Maintaining knowledge in the areas of nursing practice, medical procedures, policies and protocols and state/federal directives.
Coordinating Root Cause Analysis teams and other multidisciplinary workgroups when indicated.
Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Baccalaureate Degree in nursing, healthcare, or other relevant field required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIRED: Experience in design and implementation of proactive Risk Management programs in the Outpatient Services areas including Urgent Care, Primary Care and Physician Practices.

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Current Registered Nurse licensure, Washington State RN License preferred.

CONTINUING EDUCATION & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Continuing education in statistical process, Joint Commissi! on and DOH regulations encouraged.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of five to seven years experience in acute care nursing specifically Emergency, ICU, CCU and/or general medical surgical unit. Minimum of five years experience in risk management or legal nurse consulting.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Hospital, State and Federal directives and JCAHO standards
Research and analytical knowledge/skills sufficient to work with data
Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, process control and database management demands; Windows, Microsoft Office software and intra/internet communications experience. Demonstrates an understanding of computerized databases/software applications
Demonstrated technical competency in operational analysis and improvement; capable of applying principles of logic and scientific thinking to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to organize work! priorities and meet specific objectives under time constraints
Exc! ellent project management skills
