• Full time opportunity; Providers typically work a four day work week • Currently staffed with 2 providers: 1 physician and 1 physician assistant • Clinic hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday • Some lab work done on site • Centricity EMR System • Call is usually 1:3, physicians make use of a great Hospitalist program • Providers see 15 - 22 patients per day, hoping to bring that number closer to 25 per day • 1st year salary guarantee, 2nd year move to production model
We are a critical access hospital with approximately 680+ employees. Our facility is a public district hospital, owned and operated by the residents of Whidbey Island. The hospital provides a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services with over 75 providers representing 16 specialties. We have a fully equipped 13 bed emergency room staffed twenty-four hours a day by physicians and nurses skilled in emergency care.
Whidbey Island is considered the enchanted wonderland of the Pacific Northwest and is the largest of eight islands that make up Island and San Juan counties. The Island is conveniently located near several major cities and the hospital itself is approximately 60 miles north of Seattle, and 90 miles south of British Columbia. A Ferry at the South end, and a bridge located at the North end of the Island conveniently link Whidbey to the mainland and several large cities. With several fresh water lakes and the Puget Sound at our back door, the Island abounds with recreational opportunities. Finally, we have a temperate year around climate that makes Whidbey Island an ideal place to live.
The Island is divided economically into two regions: the north end is strongly influenced by the presence of Whidbey Island Naval Air Station (N.A.S. Whidbey) and the south end relies heavily on tourism, small scale agriculture and the arts.
