TCMP is presently searching for coverage Physician Assistants / Nurse Practitioners to provide services in the Urgent Care Clinic @ Naval Hospital Oak Harbor. We employ in excess of 300 physicians, nurses, and ancillary health care workers, who serve our clients throughout the US and internationally.Requirements: Possess and maintain a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Possess a minimum of 12 months of full-time experience within the last 24 months in an urgent or acute care setting corresponding to the requirements of the task order providing a full range of services to newborns through geriatric patients. Provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years.
Recommendation letters must include; name, title, and phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference and shall be written from either supervisors, peers, or those individuals who are in a position to attest to the healthcare workerâs clinical skills and abilities.Nurse Practitioner Requirements: Be a graduate of a Masters of Nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).Possess current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Possess current certification (in the specialty corresponding to the specialty required by the Task Order) as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).Physician Assistant Requirements: Be a graduate from a physician assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).Possess current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).Schedule:Monday- Friday, 0700 to 1530 and 1500 to 2345 hoursSaturdays, Sundays, and the day of observance of federal holidays 0800 to 2045 hours (8,12hour shifts)Duties:Provide acute care services and incorporate positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling of patients in various aspects of their health including lifestyle modifications, medications, referrals to patientâs Primary Care Manager (PCM), disease processes, etc..Coordinate care provided to patients by other specialists including both military and civilian consultants to include making appropriate and timely referrals for patients and optimize patient flow within the MTF as appropriate.Respond to, and provide appropriate care of, emergencies and/or technically direct the delivery of emergent medical care within NHOH.Staff provider advice line (PAL) while clinic is open.Adhere to the applicable BUMEDINST {6550.12 (PA) or, 6550.10A (NP)}Utilization Guidelines for Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (available from the COR upon request). Each instruction includes the following requirements: permits ordering and administration of an approved list of drugs according to protocol and requires random review of records of patients seen by the PA or NP.Maintain a complete electronic medical record for each patient by recording subjective and objective findings for each visit and ensure that an assessment and plan are formulated and documented for each visitNurse Practitioner Duties: Provide a full range of nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding Officer (e.g., technically direct and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).Adhere to BUMEDINST 6550.10A, Utilization Guidelines for Nurse Practitioners (available from the COR upon request).
This instruction includes the following requirements: permits nurse practitioner ordering and administration of an approved list of drugs according to protocol and requires random review of records of patients seen by the nurse practitioner.Treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in collaboration with a physician.Collaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses.Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.Order diagnostic tests as applicable.Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.Physician Assistant Duties: Provide a full range of physician assistant services in accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding Officer (e.g., technically direct and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).Adhere to BUMEDINST 6550.12 Utilization Guidelines for Physician Assistants (available from the COR upon request).
