Registered nurses are responsible for prescribing, delegating, coordinating and evaluating the nursing care of adult patients, 14 years and older. (L and D - patients of childbearing age; Pediatrics - patients from newborn to 14 years of age; Nursery - normal and special care newborns. CCD/ED - Nursing care is not limited in age.) The registered nurse is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of nursing care rendered. Acceptance of the conditions of Addendum A, Twelve (12) Hour Work Schedule, of the collective bargaining agreement. EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Current registration as a RN in the State of Washington; Bachelors Degree in nursing preferred. Additional education, certification and current education enrollment may substitute for a Bachelors Degree SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIRED: See Competency's for specialized units. LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: We accept licensure as a Washington State RN as a basic level of competency. BLS certification. ACLS/PALS required based on area of assignment. NRP required based on area of assignment. CONTINUING EDUCATION and COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Continuing education and license renewal required annually; yearly educational day (YED) and other requirements as determined by the Director, Acute Care Services. Fetal monitoring course every two years for Labor and Delivery RN's Population Specific continuing competency requirements: Knowledge and expertise in providing care to assigned population EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have previous related experience Certification as a health care interpreter in languages other than English a plus (Spanish, Mam, sign, etc.) Additional Requirements for Emergency Department: Must have recent emergency nursing experience within the last 2-5 years. Active ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC (TNCC for Bremerton only) provider certification required. ED triage experience beneficial. OR presently in an Emergency Department RN Residency program in which the mentioned certifications will be obtained within the next year. Additional Requirements for Oncology: Need a compassionate RN (preferably with Chemo provider card) to care for Oncology Patients. Additional Requirements for PACU: At least one year of recent recovery room, ER or ICU experience required. Must meet minimum job requirements. Call, weekend and holiday rotation required. Will train RN with strong med/surg/tele/step-down unit experience. ACLS required. PALS strongly desired. Additional Experience for Surgery: RN candidate must have strong surgical circulator skills in General, Ortho, Vascular, and Urology. Must have high clinical standards, effective communication skills and be able to work harmoniously with a diverse team. Must have WA licensure. Some Call coverage is required. Additional Requirements for Cath Lab: Cath lab, telemetry, ICU, or ED experience preferred. ACLS required. On-call requirements: must live within 30 minutes of hospital. Moderate sedation experience preferred. Additional Requirements for 2SE Subacute/Stepdown: Experience with Respiratory, Stroke and Cardiac inpatients. Additional Requirements for 3W Orthopaedics: Must have at least 2 years recent acute care experience preferably in orthopedics or an interest in orthopedics with a desire to become orthopedic certified. Experience in telemetry. Ability to work in a patient centered team approach. Additional Requirements for 4W Med/Surg: ACLS, BLS mandatory. NIH and MSCRN certifications preferred. Two years experience in one of the following areas: surgical floor, acute care medical surgical or skilled long term care. Experience with telemetry. Additional Requirements for PCU: ACLS, BLS mandatory. PCCN certification preferred. Experience in telemetry and post open heart recovery. Previous ICU/PCU experience. Additional Requirements for ICU: ACLS, BLS mandatory. CCRN and TNCC preferred. Additional Requirements for Float Team: Experienced RN with ACLS. Willing to work in a fast paced acute care environment. PCU/ICU experience preferred and a willingness to float to ICU areas. Must also be willing to float to all areas of hospital. Must be ready to work in a fast-paced environment and in a state of continual learning. Individual must be self-motivated and a team player. Additional Requirements for 3N and 2S Med/Surg: ACLS preferred. Telemetry experience and recent acute care experience preferred. May substitute two years of nursing home experience in a Medicare unit, or one year of nursing home experience in a Medicare unit and a senior preceptorship in PCU, ICU or ER. Additional Requirements for Labor and Delivery: BLS, NRP and LandD experience. Additional Requirements for Home Health: Prefer previous Home Health exprience. One year experience in acute environment. Additional Requirements for Wound Care: BSN or ADN with a bachelors degree in a related field. Wound and/or Ostomy certification preferred, and required within 2 years of hire. Additional Requirements for Optimum: One year recent acute care experience is preferred.
